Hey mate if you fall in the above category, you are not alone. I offer you some cool (oh so cliche) travel tips in this post. Actually it's not really anything cool but when you learn to relax and be contented most of the time, you'll find pleasures in every single travel even if it's extremely low budget! Here's my list of low-cost travel:
- Catch a bus or train whichever is cheaper! Over in Croatia, bus/coach tickets are relatively more expensive whereas in other countries(London), it's the cheapest mode of travel.
- Take a train. Sit and enjoy the scenery. It can be so serene in a train ride. Some people complain about the long rides and unreliable timetables. For me, it's a few hours of stretch and relax.
- Hunt down the local supermarket instead of heading for restaurants or fast food. Buy a bread roll or sandwich loaf. Grab a pack of ham and cheese. A head of lettuce will be fine. And most supermarkets now carry small packs of salad dressing, mayonnaise at the checkout counters. Voila and you have a fresh sandwich!
- Carry a bottle of water. You can always refill. And travelling can be pretty dehydrating too. So don't forget your fluids!
- Armed with your sandwich, head down to the local park or beach. And you'll have the most romantic picnic ever! Not really. But you get to appreciate the nature at the same time. It's a surreal feeling.
- Bring Toilet Paper! You must be laughing. But it beats having no TP (or PQ in french) in a train toilet. On top of that, you save money on getting pocket tissues from shops and I find these run out quicker than your roll of ugly TP!
- Enjoy a day out at the National Park or basking at the beach.
- Take the least travelled route. You need not have to pay Toll (which can be a killer in European roads) and you get to go on the scenic route!
Hope you have a plenty of fun on a low budget! :) Cheers to travellers!

The thing most people don't do when travelling is slow down. They want to see everything, and in the process, they really see nothing. I love your idea of the sandwish, the train. I'll add, look for the local coffee shop. Stop and meet the baker, the fisherman, the most interesting people you see. And take your toilet paper...
Hee.. Then they should meet me. The local baker! Ha...
Thanks for liking my ideas. :)
We like to enjoy ourselves when we travel. We are always not in a rush to see as much as possible. It's not called a vacation for nothing! :)
Bon voyage everyone!
