Adapting with the travel Adaptor

Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France

Have you ever been bothered by purchasing a travel adaptor for the countries that you are travelling to? I have. Though it's useful to purchase a universal adaptor. It may be too cumbersome to bring around. It can be really a pain finding out that the adaptor you bought can't fit into the country's socket.
One good thing that actually came out of the whole EU thingy is the standardisation of electrical sockets. However, when travelling through Europe you may hit Switzerland or UK sooner or later. They have different standards and I find that really frustrating. So what the hotels in Switzerland offered us for 10 CHF is the use of their adaptors for a night. Rip-off but not having the right pins in the right place, I could not charge my mobile. Oh bother!
Check out your adaptors, or lug a universal adaptor around. Good luck and Bon Voyage!
