Drunk Traveller

Jagermeister anyone?

Well when you tell me you love to travel, the next question that pops into my head is.. Do you love to drink? I know not every traveller loves to drink. But frankly, when I go on a vacation, I will love to check out where to get the local booze especially the beers.

Why do I associate travelling with drinking? I'm not talking about getting pissed drunk everyday. But when I go on a vacation and after a few drinks, everyone becomes my friend! With alcohol in the stomach, everyone starts to open up. And travelling becomes a really happy and enjoyable experience!

Another benefit of a few pints? It keeps me nice and warm on a winter holiday! Not to mention, you get to savour all the local booze. Every country seems to have their own special wines, beers or liquour. And when you start showing an interest in it, the locals start to converse to the foreigner. Telling you about how this wonderful concoction is made. Pretty neat hur?

Not forgetting the nice glass of vin to accompany your meal. In France, if you do not order a glass of aperitif or wine to go with your meal, you probably will look like an alien sitting in a french restaurant.

And of course, a bottle of wine makes a lovely souvenir. Be it for a friend, relative or simply sitting in your living room shelf. It shows everyone a little evidence that "Yes! I've conquered St Etienne!"

Sante!
